This is the official Dodo Payments plugin for AI assistants. It connects your AI to your Dodo Payments account and to the Dodo Payments documentation. It is handy if you take payments or run subscriptions through Dodo Payments and want your AI to help without switching tabs.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Dodo Payments, so it can look up your payments, customers and subscriptions, or search the Dodo Payments docs, when you ask. You do not need to know how it works under the hood.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about your Dodo Payments account, like which subscriptions are active or what a customer was charged. Your AI uses this helper, which talks to Dodo Payments on your behalf. Dodo Payments sends back the details, and your AI turns them into a plain answer in the chat. It can also search the Dodo Payments documentation, so answers about how things work come from the current docs. Some actions, like looking up a refund or a license key, work the same way.

What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain chat text: lists of payments, subscription statuses, customer details, refund information, or short explanations pulled from the docs. Numbers and dates come back as you would expect, not as raw code. If you ask for a summary, your AI writes it for you. Nothing is changed in your account unless you clearly ask for a change.
Before you start
What you need
- A Dodo Payments account
- An AI client that supports plugins or MCP servers, such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, VS Code, OpenCode, Kiro or Gemini CLI
- A browser sign-in to Dodo Payments the first time the API helper is used (no password to copy)
Good to know
This helper can read your real Dodo Payments data and, if you ask it to, make changes like issuing a refund, so check before you confirm anything that moves money.
