Domain Search MCP server
by dorukardahan
Check if domain names are free and what they cost, right from your AI chat.

This is a helper that lets your AI look up whether a domain name is available and roughly what it costs. It checks across many endings like .com, .io, .dev and .ai, and can also check social media usernames and suggest name ideas. It is handy if you are starting a project, naming a brand, or just curious whether a name is taken.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to domain lookup services like RDAP, GoDaddy and WHOIS, so it can check availability and prices for you. You just ask in plain words, and the AI uses this helper behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like whether a name is free as a .com. The AI sends that request to this helper. The helper then asks public domain registries and services whether the name is registered, and if pricing is set up, it also asks registrars what they charge. You get back a simple answer in the chat, usually a list or table showing which endings are free, taken, or for sale.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check if a name is available across many endings like .com, .io and .dev
- Bulk-check up to 100 names at once for one ending
- Compare prices between registrars like Porkbun and Namecheap
- Get AI-generated name suggestions for a project or brand
- Check if a username is free on GitHub, Twitter and other platforms
- Spot premium or auction domains that are for sale
- Look up what a domain ending like .ai means and its rules
Try asking your AI
- “Is mybrand.com available and how much does it cost?”
- “Check these 20 names for .io and tell me which are free”
- “Suggest some brandable names for a coffee subscription app”
- “Is the username mybrand taken on GitHub and Twitter?”
What it gives back to you
You get back a clear answer in the chat, often as a table or list. It shows which domains are free, taken, or for sale, sometimes with a price estimate and a link to check the final price. For suggestions, you get a ranked list of name ideas with short reasons. For social checks, you get a simple available or taken note per platform.
