Spark is an online catalog of ready-made AI tools: agents, skills, prompts, bundles and connectors. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to that catalog so it can search it for you. It is handy if you keep hearing about useful AI setups and want an easy way to find one that fits your task.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one extra skill. This helper gives your AI a direct line to the Spark catalog, so when you ask for a prompt or an agent for a certain job, your AI can look it up there instead of guessing. You do not need to install anything by hand beyond the one command shown below.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "find me a prompt for writing weekly reports". Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper searches the Spark catalog and picks out matching items. Your AI then shows you the results in the chat, with names, short descriptions and links. If you want, it can also pull the full text of a prompt or skill so you can copy it straight into your work.

What you can do with it

  • Search the Spark catalog by keyword, type or topic
  • Open the full details of one item by its short name
  • Fetch the raw text of a prompt or skill so you can use it
  • List the most popular items by download count
  • Show the available categories and tags for filtering
  • Check your Spark API key status and daily usage
  • Tell Spark whether a fetched item worked for you

Try asking your AI

  • “Find me a prompt for summarizing long meeting notes”
  • “Show the most popular agents in the Spark catalog”
  • “What categories are available in Spark?”
  • “Get me the full text of that prompt so I can paste it into my doc”

What it gives back to you

You get back a list of matching items with names, short descriptions and links, or the full text of one item if you asked for it. Popular lists come back as a ranked list with download counts. Everything shows up right in your chat, so you can read it, copy it or ask follow-up questions.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs npx)
  • An MCP-compatible AI app such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or OpenClaw

Good to know

The report_outcome tool sends feedback about what you tried back to Spark, so only use it when you are happy to share that.

Install it with your AI

Add Spark MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Spark MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step.
