Context Memory MCP server
by ErebusEnigma
Let your AI remember past Claude Code sessions and search them later when you ask.

Context Memory is a small helper that saves what you and your AI worked on, then lets you search it later. It is made for people who use Claude Code and keep losing track of what was decided or fixed in earlier sessions. If you have ever wished your AI could remember last week's work, this is for you.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat about what is in front of it right now. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something outside the chat. This one connects your AI to a local memory store on your computer, so it can save sessions and look them up when you ask. You do not need to understand how it works inside. You just talk to your AI like normal.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to remember the current session, or it saves automatically when you close Claude Code. The AI writes a short summary, picks out topics, notes key decisions and code, and hands all of it to this helper. The helper stores everything in a small database file on your computer. Later, when you ask a question like how you fixed something, the helper searches that database and gives the matching sessions back to your AI, which then explains them to you.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Save the current session with a short note
- Search past sessions by keyword
- Limit a search to the project you are in right now
- Get full details and code snippets from a past session
- See statistics about how much you have saved
- Recover the full conversation from before a context reset
- Open a web dashboard to browse and filter your saved sessions
Try asking your AI
- “Remember this session and note that we switched from sessions to JWT for auth”
- “Recall how we fixed the authentication bug last week”
- “Search my past sessions for the retry pattern, with full details”
- “Show me sessions from this project only, about database migrations”
What it gives back to you
You get back a list of matching past sessions, each with a short summary, the topics, the outcome, and the date. If you ask for details, you also see the key messages and code snippets. For statistics, you get simple numbers like how many sessions are saved. When you recover a checkpoint, the full earlier conversation comes back into the chat.
Before you start
What you need
- Claude Code installed
- Python 3.8 or newer
- For the optional MCP server: Python 3.10 or newer and the mcp package
- For the optional web dashboard: the flask and flask-cors packages
Good to know
It saves parts of your conversations and code to a local database, so anything private you discuss in Claude Code may end up stored there.
Install it with your AI
Add Context Memory MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Context Memory MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Developers and technical teams who use Claude Code daily and want their past work to stay searchable.
