Google Images MCP server

by HasData

Lets your AI search Google Images and bring back picture links, source pages and sizes.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Google Images. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI in plain words for pictures of something, and it goes and finds them for you. It is handy for anyone who needs images or wants to know which websites show up for a topic, without opening a browser and clicking around.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Google Images, so when you ask for pictures of something, your AI can actually go and look them up instead of guessing. You do not run anything on your own computer here, because this helper lives on HasData's servers and your AI talks to it over the internet.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like find me photos of the Austin skyline. Your AI sends that request to this helper, which looks at the Google Images results page a normal signed-out visitor would see. The helper turns that page into a tidy list of results and hands it back to your AI. Your AI then shows you the list in the chat, with the picture title, the website it came from, a small preview link, and the link to the full-size file. You can also ask it to narrow things down by size, colour or type of image.

What you can do with it

  • Search Google Images for any topic you type
  • Filter results by size, colour or image type
  • See which websites are showing up for a search term
  • Get the full-resolution link for each image
  • Search as if you were in another country or using another language
  • Ask for the next page of results when you need more
  • Turn the adult content filter on or off

Try asking your AI

  • “Find images of the Austin skyline and give me the ones over 1500 pixels wide”
  • “Which sites are showing images for this product name”
  • “Get black and white photographs for this query and skip clipart and line art”
  • “Search this landmark and tell me which results are stock photos”

What it gives back to you

You get back a list of up to 100 images in one go. Each one comes with a title, the page it came from, the site name, a small preview link, the full-size image link, and the width and height. Your AI can show this as a simple list or a table in the chat, or summarise it for you. It can also just answer your question, like telling you which sites keep appearing.

Before you start

What you need

  • An MCP client, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code
  • A HasData API key (a kind of password for apps; you get one free from the HasData dashboard, no card needed)

Good to know

The full-size image links point at other people's websites and may be broken or blocked, and the pictures themselves may be copyrighted, so check before you reuse them.

Install it with your AI

Add Google Images MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Google Images MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,361 MCP servers here for you.
