eleata e-invoice MCP server
Check EU electronic invoices for errors and get plain-English explanations of rejection codes.

This is a small helper that lets your AI check European electronic invoices for problems before you send them. If your AI can already chat but cannot read a Peppol, XRechnung, FatturaPA or Factur-X file, this adds that skill. It is handy for anyone who sends or receives e-invoices and is tired of rejections.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to eleata, an online invoice checker, so it can look at an invoice file and tell you what is wrong. You just ask in normal words, and the helper does the technical part behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You paste an invoice file into the chat and ask your AI if it is valid. The AI sends it to this helper, which passes it to the eleata validation service. That service runs the official rule sets used across Europe and sends back a result: valid or not valid, plus each rule that failed, what it means, and how to fix it. You also get a plain-English explanation of any error code, even without an internet connection for that part.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check a Peppol BIS, XRechnung, Factur-X/ZUGFeRD, UBL or CII invoice for errors
- See exactly which rule failed and what to change
- Look up what an error code like 00400 or BR-DE-21 means
- Ask which invoice formats can be validated today
- Catch problems before a rejection from SdI, Chorus Pro or KSeF
Try asking your AI
- “Validate this XRechnung file and tell me what to fix”
- “What does FatturaPA error 00400 mean and how do I fix it?”
- “Which e-invoice formats can you validate today?”
- “Is this Peppol invoice valid? Here is the XML”
What it gives back to you
You get a clear answer in the chat: valid or not valid. If something is wrong, you see each rule id, a short explanation and the suggested fix. For error-code questions you get a plain-English explanation, no file needed.
Before you start
What you need
- A free eleata API key (200 validations per month, no card needed) from eleata.io/signup
- Node.js installed on your computer (the setup uses npx)
- An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor
Good to know
When you use validate_einvoice, the invoice file you paste is sent to the eleata online service for checking, so do not paste invoices you are not allowed to share.
