Svipall MCP server
by ilien-dev
Lets your AI read web pages, crawl sites, search, and pull tables as clean Markdown or rows.

Svipall is a helper program that runs on your own computer and lets your AI read web pages properly. Instead of dumping raw web code into the chat, it turns pages into clean text, tables, or rows you can use. It is handy if you use ChatGPT or Claude for research, price checks, or gathering information from websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case the ability to read and work with web pages. When you ask your AI to look something up online, it sends the request to Svipall on your machine, and Svipall fetches the page and hands back clean text. You never have to copy and paste web content yourself.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to read a page, crawl a site, or pull a table. Your AI passes that request to Svipall, which runs quietly on your computer. Svipall first tries a simple web request, and if the site blocks it, it can try harder using a real browser engine. It then turns whatever it finds into clean Markdown text, typed rows, or a file on disk. If a site truly blocks it, Svipall tells you plainly instead of pretending it worked.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Read a single web page and get clean Markdown back
- Crawl a whole site and save the pages as a file
- Turn a listing page into rows with named columns
- Pull a data table out as CSV without filling up the chat
- Search the web without needing an API key
- Watch a page and tell you when something changes
- Read PDFs and Office files as Markdown
- Log in to a site once and keep the session for later
Try asking your AI
- “Read this page and summarise the pricing”
- “Crawl these docs and write me an llms.txt file”
- “Get me every row of that table as CSV”
- “Watch this listing and tell me when the price moves”
What it gives back to you
You get back clean text, a list of rows, or a saved file, depending on what you asked for. For a single page, your AI shows a summary or the Markdown content in the chat. For tables or crawls, Svipall can write a CSV or Markdown file to your computer so thousands of rows never flood the conversation. If a page was blocked, you get a plain note saying so and what kind of block it was.
