Let your AI pick a design kit, apply it to your project, and research brand names and domains.

Identity Forge is a helper that gives your AI a full visual design system before it starts building a website or app. You can browse ready-made design kits, apply one to your project, and even research brand names, domains, and trademarks. It is handy for anyone who builds pages or products and wants them to look consistent without hiring a designer first.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to Identity Forge, a library of design kits and brand tools. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI to pick a design kit and apply it, and the helper does the work behind the scenes.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI for a design that fits your product, or you name a kit you like. The AI uses this helper to search the Identity Forge catalog and rank kits against your brief. The helper then fetches the kit's design brief and tokens, and writes them into your project as files. It also refuses to overwrite files it did not create, so your own work stays safe. You can also use it to research names, check domains, and look up EUIPO trademarks.

What you can do with it

  • Browse and search design kits by mood, industry, or use case
  • Apply a design kit to your project as DESIGN.md and token files
  • Export a kit as CSS, Tailwind, shadcn, DTCG tokens, or JSON
  • Find kits that match colors you already use
  • Search Google Fonts and get heading and body font pairings
  • Research brand names, domains, and EUIPO trademarks
  • Create shareable brand projects for clients

Try asking your AI

  • “Use Identity Forge to pick a theme that fits this product, apply it, and follow the DESIGN.md.”
  • “Find me a calm fintech dashboard design kit and show me the options.”
  • “Match a design kit to my existing brand colors: #1A2B3C and #F4E3D7.”
  • “Suggest a heading and body font pairing for a friendly editorial blog.”

What it gives back to you

You get back lists of design kits with short summaries, ranked by how well they fit your request. When you apply a kit, it writes a DESIGN.md brief and token files into your project folder. You can also get font suggestions, color matches, and research results about names and domains. The AI shows you these in the chat as text, and the files appear in your project.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs npx commands)
  • An AI coding tool like Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, or Codex
  • No account needed for free kits; sign in for saved projects and Pro features

Good to know

Applying a design kit writes files into your project, and the --force option can overwrite your own files without recovery, so preview first and check what would change.

Install it with your AI
