This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to live Korean websites. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI about Naver place reviews, Melon music charts, Daangn or Bunjang second-hand listings, Korean news, and Musinsa fashion rankings, and it will go fetch the answers for you. It is handy if you follow Korean trends, shop on Korean marketplaces, or need Korean news and reviews without opening ten tabs.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Korean websites like Naver, Melon, Daangn, Bunjang, and Musinsa. When you ask a question about any of those, the AI passes your request to this helper, and the helper brings back fresh data for the AI to show you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question in plain words, like what is on the Melon chart today. The AI sends that request to this helper program. The helper then uses Apify, a service that collects public web data, to pull the information from the Korean site you asked about. The results come back to your AI, which turns them into a tidy answer in the chat. You never have to visit the site yourself or copy anything by hand.

What you can do with it

  • Read reviews for a Naver Place, like a restaurant, cafe, or shop
  • Check the current Melon music chart, real-time, daily, or weekly
  • Search Daangn Market listings for second-hand items
  • Search Bunjang listings for used goods
  • Find Naver News articles by keyword
  • Search Naver Map places by keyword and location
  • See Musinsa fashion rankings by category

Try asking your AI

  • “What are the top 10 songs on the Melon chart right now?”
  • “Find cafes near Hongdae on Naver Map and show their reviews.”
  • “Search Daangn for iPhone 15 Pro listings in Seoul.”
  • “Show me the Musinsa top 50 outer clothing items.”

What it gives back to you

You get back a clean answer in the chat, usually a list or a short summary. For charts and rankings, you see the items in order with names and details. For reviews, news, or listings, you see the titles, snippets, and links. If you asked a simple question, the AI often just tells you the answer in a sentence or two.

Before you start

What you need

  • An Apify account (the free tier includes $5 of credit each month)
  • An Apify API token, which is a kind of password the Apify site gives you
  • Python installed, or the uv tool if you prefer the no-install option
  • An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop or Cursor

Good to know

Each lookup uses your Apify credit, so heavy use can cost money once the free monthly credit runs out.
