Inbox Check MCP server

by live-direct-marketing

Test where your emails land in Gmail, Outlook and 7 other providers, with spam and authentication results.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Where did my email land in Gmail and Outlook?”, the Inbox Check MCP server connects it to Inbox Check, and you get back where your email landed.

This is a small helper that lets your AI run real inbox placement tests for you. You give it an email, and it sends that email to real test mailboxes at Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and other providers, then tells you where it landed. It is handy if you send newsletters, cold emails or receipts and want to know whether people actually see them.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to the Inbox Check service, so your AI can start a test, check the results and read back what each provider did with your email. You just ask in normal words, and the helper does the technical part behind the scenes.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to create an inbox placement test. The AI uses this helper to talk to the Inbox Check service, which gives back a set of test email addresses (called seed addresses). You send your email to those addresses, then ask your AI to check the results. The AI reads back where the email landed at each provider (Inbox, Spam, Promotions and so on), whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC passed, and often a screenshot of what the recipient sees.

What you can do with it

  • Create an inbox placement test for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and other providers
  • Check where your email landed at each provider after sending it
  • See whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC passed or failed
  • List your recent tests and summarise spam rates
  • Delete old tests and their screenshots
  • Check your API key details and how much quota you have left

Try asking your AI

  • “Use inbox-check to create a test against Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo, then wait 90 seconds and tell me where the email landed.”
  • “List my last 10 inbox-check tests and summarise the spam rate per provider.”
  • “Create a test, I'll send the email, then show me the SPF/DKIM/DMARC results and tell me which record is misaligned.”
  • “Compare where my old and new newsletter templates land across all providers.”

What it gives back to you

You get a plain answer in the chat: which folder your email reached at each provider, plus the SPF, DKIM and DMARC results. It can also show screenshots of the inbox or spam view so you can see what the recipient sees. For lists, you get a short summary of your recent tests with spam rates per provider.

Before you start

What you need

  • An Inbox Check API key (a kind of password for apps; you request one from the Inbox Check site)
  • The Claude desktop app or another AI app that supports MCP servers
  • Node.js installed on your computer (the helper runs through npx)

Good to know

Deleting a test also removes its screenshots, and each test uses up some of your quota, so keep an eye on how many you run.
