Job Change Tracker MCP server
by mambalabsdev
Check if your CRM contacts left, moved, or got promoted, with their current employer and title.
This is a small helper that lets your AI check whether the people in your contact list still work where you think they do. You give it names and companies, and it tells you who left, who moved to a new place, and who got promoted. It is handy if you keep a CRM and want to keep it from going stale.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to the Mamba Labs Job Change Tracker, which runs on Apify. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI to check a contact, and it will use this helper to look things up and hand you back the answer.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to check one person or a list of people. The AI passes those names and companies to this helper. The helper starts a job on Apify, which looks through public sources like web search results and role histories you send or that come from your own provider keys. When the job finishes, the helper hands back one row per person. Each row tells you where they work now, their title, when they started, and whether they left, landed somewhere new, or were promoted, plus where that answer came from and how old it is.
What you can do with it
- Check if a contact still works at the company in your records
- See where someone went after they left
- Spot people who were promoted inside the same company
- Run a whole list of contacts at once and see who changed jobs
- Get the current employer, title, and start month for each person
- See the source and age behind each answer so you know how fresh it is
Try asking your AI
- “Check whether Jane Doe still works at example.com and where she went if she left.”
- “Run these 20 contacts and tell me who changed jobs in the last 6 months.”
- “Did John Smith get promoted at Acme, or did he leave?”
- “For this list of people, give me their current employer and title.”
What it gives back to you
For each person, you get a row with their current employer, title, start month, role history, and a status like left, landed, promoted, or still there. It also shows how the person was matched, which source the answer came from, and how old that source is. In the chat, this usually shows up as a short list or table you can read and copy. If you sent an input_id, it comes back on the row so you can match it to your CRM.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer
- An Apify account and API token (a kind of password for apps; Apify gives you one in your account settings)
- Your own keys for search or enrichment providers if you want those steps (optional; without them, those steps are skipped)
Good to know
Each check uses Apify credits and may use your own paid provider keys, so a big list can cost money; you can set a spending limit with max_charge_usd.
