JsonLink MCP server

by mauriblint

Lets your AI read any web page as clean text, grab link previews, take screenshots and list links and images.

This is a small add-on that lets your AI assistant actually open and read web pages for you. You give it a link, and it comes back with the page text, a preview, a screenshot, or a list of links and pictures. It is handy if you often paste links into ChatGPT or Claude and wish the AI could see what is on them.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a little helper program that gives your AI one new skill, here the ability to fetch and read web pages through a service called JsonLink. Once it is connected, you just ask in normal words and the AI quietly uses this helper behind the scenes. You never have to touch the helper yourself.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like read this link and summarize it. The AI passes the web address to this helper program. The helper sends the request to the JsonLink service, which loads the page, even if it is heavy with scripts or tries to block visitors. JsonLink sends back the page as clean text, or a preview, or a screenshot, or a list of links and images. The AI then turns that into an answer for you in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Read a web page and turn it into clean text your AI can summarize
  • Get the title, description, preview image and favicon for a link
  • Take a screenshot of a page on desktop, mobile, tablet or full page
  • Hide ads, cookie banners and chat widgets from screenshots
  • List every link on a page with its text and whether it is internal or external
  • List every image on a page with its format, size and dimensions

Try asking your AI

  • “Read https://example.com/blog/post and summarize it in five bullet points”
  • “Take a mobile screenshot of my landing page and tell me what looks broken”
  • “Screenshot just the pricing section of stripe.com in dark mode”
  • “Get the title and description of these 10 links and make a table”

What it gives back to you

You get back whatever fits your request: a clean text version of the page, a short preview with title and image, an actual picture of the page, or a tidy list of links or images. The AI usually wraps this in a short answer, a table or a summary in the chat. Screenshots appear as images you can look at right there.

Before you start

What you need

  • A JsonLink account (free plan gives 100 credits a month, no card needed)
  • Your JsonLink API key from the dashboard (a kind of password for apps)
  • An MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code
  • Node.js installed on your computer, since the helper runs through npx

Good to know

Each use spends credits from your JsonLink plan, so a long list of links or many screenshots can add up quickly.

Install it with your AI

Add JsonLink MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check JsonLink MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
