Metoro MCP server

by metoro-io · official

Lets your AI answer questions about your Kubernetes cluster using Metoro's monitoring data.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Are any of my services unhealthy right now?”, the Metoro MCP server connects it to Metoro, and you get back A plain answer in your chat.

This is a small helper made by Metoro, a company that watches over Kubernetes clusters for you. Once you connect it to the Claude Desktop app, you can ask Claude plain questions about what is happening in your cluster and get answers back. It is handy for anyone who looks after Kubernetes and wants quick answers without clicking around dashboards.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects Claude to Metoro, a monitoring service for Kubernetes. So when you ask a question about your cluster, Claude can look it up in Metoro and tell you what it finds.

What this MCP server does

You ask Claude a question about your Kubernetes cluster in normal words. Claude passes that question to this helper program running on your computer. The helper talks to Metoro's service, which holds the monitoring data from your cluster. Metoro sends the answer back, and Claude explains it to you in the chat. You never have to open a dashboard or write a query yourself.

What you can do with it

  • Ask what is running in your Kubernetes cluster right now
  • Check whether a service is healthy or having problems
  • Look up recent errors or warnings in your environment
  • Find out which workloads are using the most resources
  • Explore a demo cluster even if you do not have a Metoro account
  • Get plain-language answers about your cluster without leaving the chat

Try asking your AI

  • “What is happening in my Kubernetes cluster right now?”
  • “Are any of my services unhealthy or throwing errors?”
  • “Which pods are using the most CPU in the last hour?”
  • “Show me recent problems in the checkout service”

What it gives back to you

You get answers written out in the chat, in normal sentences. Depending on your question, that can be a list of services, a short summary of what is healthy or not, or numbers about resource use. Claude pulls the details from Metoro and explains them to you. You do not get raw files or dashboards, just the explanation.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Claude Desktop app
  • Go installed on your computer (the programming language used to build this helper)
  • A Metoro account and its auth token, or the free demo token from the README

Good to know

This helper can read details about your Kubernetes cluster through Metoro, so only connect it to a Metoro account and cluster you are comfortable sharing with your AI.

Install it with your AI

Add Metoro MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Metoro MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
