Groundwork MCP server

by Rarefied-Earth

Lets your AI read your company's brand, voice, and priorities so its answers fit your business.

Groundwork is a helper that gives your AI a picture of how your company works. Instead of starting from zero every time, your AI can look up your brand, your writing style, your priorities, and which tools you have turned on. It is handy for small business owners and teams who want AI answers that sound like them, not like a generic robot.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to Groundwork, a place that holds your company's details. Once connected, your AI can ask Groundwork about your brand, voice, and priorities, and then use those answers when it writes or plans for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like what is our current brand voice or what should we focus on this week. Your AI sends that question to the Groundwork helper. The helper reads your company's feed, which includes your brand facts, voice rules, charter, and priorities. It sends the answer back to your AI, and your AI shows it to you in the chat. Groundwork is read-only, so it only looks things up, it does not change your files or settings.

What you can do with it

  • Look up your company's brand facts before writing anything
  • Check your voice rules so drafts sound like you
  • See your current priorities and what matters right now
  • List which skills and modules your plan includes
  • Check the health of the modules you use
  • Get a full operating picture of your company in one request

Try asking your AI

  • “What is our current brand voice and what words should we avoid?”
  • “Give me our top three priorities for this week.”
  • “List the skills I have access to and describe the one for writing proposals.”
  • “Show me the current status of our company setup.”

What it gives back to you

You get back clear answers in the chat, like a short summary of your brand facts, a list of voice rules, or a snapshot of your priorities. Some answers come as lists, like the skills you have turned on or the modules you can use. Every answer includes a note that it came from Groundwork, so you know where the information came from. Nothing in your workspace is changed, because the connection only reads.

Before you start

What you need

  • An MCP-compatible client like Claude Desktop or Cursor
  • A Groundwork account (the 14-day trial needs no card)
  • A token from your Groundwork dashboard to connect the client

Good to know

The connection is read-only, so it will not change your files, but it does read your company's brand, voice, and priority details, so only connect it to a workspace you are comfortable sharing with your AI client.
