Confluence MCP server
by tqiqbal
Let your AI search, read, create, update and delete Confluence pages for you.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Confluence, the place where your team keeps its pages and notes. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI in plain words to find a page, read it, or write a new one. It is handy if you spend a lot of time hunting through Confluence or copying text in and out of it.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another app. This one connects your AI to your Confluence site, so when you ask about a page, the AI can actually go and look it up there. You do not need to understand how it works inside. You just talk to your AI like normal.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something about Confluence, like finding pages in a space or reading a specific page. The AI passes your request to this helper program. The helper talks to your Confluence site using its normal web address and your login details. Confluence sends back the pages or confirms the change, and the helper hands that back to the AI. The AI then shows you the answer or tells you what it changed.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search Confluence with a query and get a list of matching pages
- Read a page by its ID, with or without the full body text
- List the pages inside a space
- Find a page by its title and space
- Create a new page, optionally under a parent page
- Update the content or title of an existing page
- Delete a page by its ID
Try asking your AI
- “Find all pages in the DOCS space”
- “Get the content of page with ID 123456”
- “Create a new page titled Meeting Notes in the TEAM space with content
Notes from our meeting
”
- “Update the title of page 123456 to Revised Meeting Notes”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, like a list of page titles, a page's text, or a short confirmation that a page was created, updated or deleted. Search results come back as a list you can read through. When you ask for a page, the AI shows you the content it found. When you ask it to change something, it tells you what it did.
Before you start
What you need
- A Confluence Data Center site you can log into
- Your Confluence username and password
- The web address of your Confluence site's API (your IT team or Confluence admin can tell you)
- Python installed on your computer, plus the project files from the GitHub page
Good to know
This helper can change and delete real Confluence pages, so double check what your AI is about to do before saying yes, and keep your Confluence password private.
Install it with your AI
Add Confluence MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Confluence MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who works in Confluence every day, like project managers, writers, support teams and admins who want to search and update pages without clicking around.
