Urlbox MCP server
by urlbox
Let your AI take screenshots, make PDFs, and pull web pages as Markdown or HTML for you.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Urlbox, a service that captures websites. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI to screenshot a page, turn it into a PDF, or grab the text as Markdown, and it will do the work for you. It is handy for anyone who saves web pages for reports, research, or sharing.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Urlbox, a website that takes pictures and PDFs of web pages. So when you ask for a screenshot or a PDF, your AI passes the request to this helper, and the helper talks to Urlbox for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like take a screenshot of this page. Your AI sends that request to this helper program running on your computer. The helper talks to the Urlbox service, which loads the web page and captures it. Urlbox sends back the image, PDF, or text, and the helper hands it to your AI. Your AI then shows you the result or saves the file to your computer if you asked for that.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Take a screenshot of any web page as a PNG or other image format
- Turn a full web page into a PDF
- Save a page as Markdown or HTML text
- Record a short video of a page with MP4
- Extract metadata and cookies from a page
- Block ads and hide cookie banners before capturing
- Download the captured files straight to your computer
Try asking your AI
- “Take a screenshot of https://example.com but block ads and hide cookie banners”
- “Convert https://urlbox.com to a PDF and save it to my computer”
- “Take a screenshot of https://example.com and also save it as HTML and markdown”
- “Grab the main text of this article as Markdown so I can paste it into my notes”
What it gives back to you
You get back the captured result in your chat: an image, a PDF file, or a block of Markdown or HTML text. If you asked to save it, the file lands in your downloads folder. For metadata, you get a list of details about the page. Your AI may also summarise what it found.
