VAT number checker MCP server

This is a small helper that lets your AI look up VAT rates for European countries and check whether an EU VAT number is real. It is handy if you deal with invoices, customers, or suppliers in Europe and want quick answers without opening a tax website. You do not need to be technical to use it once it is set up.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like what the VAT rate is in Finland, or whether a VAT number is valid. The AI passes your question to this helper. For rates and format checks, the helper uses data it already carries with it, so it works even without internet. For live checks of an EU VAT number, the helper contacts the European Commission's VIES service and brings back what it finds. Then the AI tells you the answer in the chat.

What it gives back to you

For rates, you get a short list of numbers with a label for each, like standard and reduced. For a format check, you get a simple yes or no with a note about the expected pattern. For a live validation, you get whether the number is valid, plus the company name, address, and registration date when available. All of this shows up as a normal reply in your chat.
