AI Daily Insights MCP server
by WhaleCupl
Lets your AI read and search a daily Chinese AI-industry news briefing, with clean structured results.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to AI Daily Insights, a daily news briefing about the AI industry in China. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI things like what happened in AI this week, or find every story about a certain company. It is handy if you follow the Chinese AI world but do not want to open a website and click around every day.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill or one new connection. This helper connects your AI to AI Daily Insights, a daily news site. So when you ask about recent AI news, your AI can go and look it up there for you instead of guessing.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about AI news, like what came out this week or what is new with a certain company. Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper then talks to the AI Daily Insights website and pulls back the matching daily issues and news items. The site already stores its news in a tidy format, so nothing has to be scraped out of web pages. Your AI then reads what came back and answers you in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Get the newest daily issue with all its news items
- List the most recent issues with dates, titles, summaries and tags
- Fetch one specific day's issue by its date
- Pull every issue in a date range, like the past week
- List issues that carry a certain tag, such as a company or topic
- Search all news items by keyword, with an optional tag filter
Try asking your AI
- “List the last 5 days of AI news and tell me what stands out”
- “What did AI Daily Insights say about SpaceX recently”
- “Search the briefing for anything about chips this month”
- “Give me every issue from last week and summarize the main themes”
What it gives back to you
You get back the actual news content: dates, titles, summaries, tags, links and the individual news items with their titles and body text. Your AI can show this as a list, a short summary, or a themed roundup, depending on what you asked. Search results come back as matching news items, not as a pile of web links. Everything appears right in the chat, so you do not have to open the site yourself.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app, Claude Code, Cursor, or another assistant that supports MCP servers
- Node.js 20 or newer on your computer
- An internet connection, since it reads from the public AI Daily Insights site
Good to know
By default the helper sends a small anonymous usage event (just the tool name and version) back to the news site, and you can turn that off by setting AI_DAILY_ANALYTICS to 0.
