ElevenLabs hits $22 billion valuation as enterprise voice AI adoption accelerates

ElevenLabs closed a $300 million employee tender offer on September 30, 2026, doubling its valuation to $22 billion. The round was led by Wellington and T. Rowe Price, signaling strong institutional confidence in the company's pivot from text-to-speech research to a full-stack conversational AI platform serving large enterprises.

The valuation jump reflects a rapid shift in how businesses deploy AI. Just four years ago, ElevenLabs raised its first seed round at $9 million. Now, enterprise customers account for 55% of its revenue, driven by the adoption of ElevenAgents, a platform for building conversational interfaces that connect to company knowledge bases and operational systems.

From voice models to enterprise infrastructure

The company's growth is tied to its recent release of Eleven v4 and v4 Turbo, its fastest and most emotive text-to-speech models to date. These models are already leading independent benchmarks, providing the technical foundation for more natural interactions. However, the business model has expanded beyond selling voice synthesis APIs.

ElevenLabs now operates as a full interaction platform. It allows organizations to deploy agents that listen, understand, respond, and act across various channels. This infrastructure is used in daily operations at five of the world's ten largest tech companies, five of the ten largest insurers, and four of the ten largest telecoms.

Mati Staniszewski, cofounder and CEO of ElevenLabs, emphasized the strategic importance of natural interaction. "AI should interact with people the way we interact with each other," Staniszewski said. "Getting this right will help ensure AI diffuses widely across the economy, and everyone is able to shape and benefit from it, regardless of technical skill."

Enterprise adoption metrics and vertical integration

Since its Series D in February 2026, ElevenLabs has seen significant traction with major clients, including Stripe, Deutsche Telekom, DoorDash's SevenRooms, Admiral, Customers Bank, and Cadence. Government entities in Ukraine and Greece have also rolled out ElevenAgents for public services.

The platform now handles more than 15 million conversations weekly, a threefold increase since February. During the same period, ElevenAgents' annual recurring revenue grew by more than 3x. The company reports that voice agents resolve customer issues 31% faster than chat-based agents on average, a metric likely driven by the speed and nuance of voice communication.

To support this scale, ElevenLabs employs over 800 people and has built verticalized solutions for financial services, healthcare, government, retail, and telecom. These industry-specific products include integrations and fine-tuned models, such as Scribe v2 Medical, optimized for healthcare transcription. The company also deploys forward-deployed engineers to work directly with clients, ensuring agents adhere to local social norms, compliance standards, and brand guidelines.

Investor sentiment and future outlook

The tender offer included new investments from EQT, Goldman Sachs, GIC, OTPP, Sapphire Ventures, and BDT & MSD, alongside existing backers like Andreessen Horowitz and Lightspeed. Emma Norchet at T. Rowe Price highlighted the company's structural advantage: "As ElevenLabs has grown its conversational agent business, the combination of research, product, and deployment has proved an important structural advantage," Norchet said. "The team is able to make improvements at every layer of the stack, allowing them to execute at high velocity and deliver immediate value for its enterprise clients."

The company's approach involves owning the full stack, from model research to product application and deployment. This integration allows model improvements to reach customers immediately, while feedback from real-world scenarios refines the underlying technology. As AI adoption spreads, the ability to deliver context-aware, multi-channel interactions is becoming a key differentiator for enterprise software providers.

Why this matters for Executives and Strategy, Finance, Marketing

The shift from standalone voice tools to integrated conversational platforms suggests that AI value is increasingly found in the application layer and deployment context, not just in model capability. For finance and strategy leaders, the 55% enterprise revenue share and 3x ARR growth of ElevenAgents indicate that voice AI is moving from experimental pilots to core operational infrastructure. Marketing teams should note that voice agents resolve issues faster than chatbots and are being used across sales, support, and business operations. The trend toward verticalized, compliance-ready AI solutions means that generic AI tools may face barriers in regulated industries, favoring vendors who offer specialized deployment support and industry-specific integrations.
