afair MCP server
by afairai
Give your AI one shared memory of you, so it stops forgetting between chats and tools.

afair is a memory vault for your AI tools. Instead of each chat starting blank, your AI can look things up in one shared place and add new things it learns about you. It is handy if you use several AI tools and are tired of repeating yourself.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with what is in the current conversation. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This helper connects your AI to afair, your own memory vault. When you ask something, your AI can quietly check the vault or write something into it for you.
What this MCP server does
You talk to your AI like normal. Behind the scenes, the AI uses this helper to talk to afair. afair keeps a running record of facts, people, decisions and preferences, and it tidies that record in the background so it stays useful. When something is relevant to what you are doing, the AI pulls it back and uses it in its answer. You can also read what afair believes and correct it if it gets you wrong.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Remember a decision, a person, a date or a preference
- Recall what is relevant to the conversation you are having
- Log what the AI just did so the vault keeps up
- Read back what afair believes about a topic
- Correct a memory that is wrong or out of date
- Export everything you have stored whenever you want
Try asking your AI
- “Remember that my manager is Priya and she prefers short updates on Fridays.”
- “What do you know about the project I was working on last month?”
- “Note that I decided to go with the cheaper supplier for the packaging.”
- “Recall anything I have told you about my sister's wedding.”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat that already include the context afair found, so you do not have to repeat yourself. When the AI saves something, it usually just tells you it remembered it. You can also ask to see what afair believes and follow it back to where it came from.
Before you start
What you need
- Python 3.12 or newer
- The uv tool (a small program that installs Python projects)
- An API key from an AI provider such as Anthropic (a kind of password for apps; the provider gives you one)
Good to know
Your memory vault holds personal things, so keep your API key private and remember that anything you ask your AI to remember will be stored there.
Install it with your AI
Add afair MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check afair MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who use several AI tools every day and want one shared memory of their work and life instead of repeating themselves.
