PageWire MCP server

by AgentiLoop

Turn any public web page into clean Markdown or page details your AI can read and use.

PageWire is a helper that lets your AI read public web pages and hand you back clean, tidy text instead of a messy wall of website code. It is handy when you want your AI to look something up online and actually understand what is on the page. You do not need an account or a password to start.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to PageWire, a service that reads public web pages and cleans them up. So when you ask your AI about a page, it can go fetch that page through PageWire and bring the content back to you.

What this MCP server does

You give your AI a web address and tell it what you want. Your AI passes that address to this helper. The helper asks the PageWire service to open the page and tidy it up. PageWire sends back the page as clean Markdown text, or just the page details like the title and description, or the page plus a few other pages from the same site. Your AI then reads that and answers you in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Turn any public web page into clean Markdown text
  • Pull out a page's title, description, and language
  • Read the social preview info a page shows on social media
  • Grab the links found on a page
  • Read a page plus up to four other pages from the same site
  • Limit a site read to pages under a certain path

Try asking your AI

  • “Read this page and summarize the main points for me: https://example.com/article”
  • “What is the title and description of this page? https://example.com”
  • “Fetch this page and the pages it links to on the same site, then give me a short overview”
  • “Turn this blog post into clean text I can paste into a document”

What it gives back to you

You get back clean, readable text in the chat, usually as Markdown you can copy. For a page read, that includes the title, description, the page text, and the links. For a details call, you get things like the title, description, language, and social preview info. For a site read, you get the main page plus a few other pages from the same site, each as Markdown.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Claude desktop app or another app that supports MCP servers
  • Node.js 18 or newer if you use the bridge option
  • A way to pay in USDC once you go past the free daily amount (the first few calls each day are free)

Good to know

Calls past the small free daily amount cost real money in USDC, so keep an eye on how often your AI uses it.

Install it with your AI

Add PageWire MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check PageWire MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,361 MCP servers here for you.
