Quran MCP server

by djalal

Ask your AI about the Quran: chapters, verses, translations, tafsirs, audio and search results.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Show me Surah Al-Fatihah with an English translation”, the Quran MCP server connects it to Quran.com, and you get back verses shown in your chat.

This is a connector between your AI assistant and the Quran.com website content. Once it is switched on, you can just talk to your AI in normal words and it fetches real Quran text instead of guessing. It is handy for anyone reading, studying or teaching the Quran who wants quick accurate references while chatting.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat based on what it learned during training. An MCP server is a small helper program running behind the scenes that gives your AI one extra ability. Here, that helper connects your AI to the Quran.com collection of texts, translations and commentary. So when you ask something, your AI sends the question through this helper, gets the answer straight from Quran.com, and replies to you.

What this MCP server does

First you ask your AI a question about the Quran, such as showing a chapter or finding where patience is mentioned. Your AI then calls this helper, and the helper asks the Quran.com public interface for those records. The reply comes back into the chat, usually wrapped nicely in your conversation. Behind the curtain everything happens automatically within seconds, and you never touch any code yourself.

What you can do with it

  • Read any surah's verses along with a chosen translation
  • Look up details about a specific chapter or verse reference
  • Search the whole Quran for a word or phrase
  • Browse lists of available translations and tafsirs
  • Get a randomly selected verse for reflection
  • Find out how many juz sections exist and view one

Try asking your AI

  • “Show me the full text of Surah Al-Fatihah with an English translation”
  • “What does verse 2:255 say?”
  • “Which translations are available in French?”
  • “Give me a random verse for today.”

What it gives back to you

Your AI shows the requested material right inside the chat window, often formatted as readable blocks. For searches you typically see matching verses together with their chapter and verse labels. Lists come back as simple numbered choices, so you can pick one and keep asking follow-up questions naturally. Nothing is changed anywhere online because this server only reads.

Good to know

Everything runs in read-only fashion against external sources, yet verify quoted scriptural lines independently whenever precision truly matters religiously speaking.
