plsreadme MCP server
by FacundoLucci
Turn your markdown notes into clean, shareable web links right from your AI chat.

plsreadme takes markdown text, like a README, meeting notes, or a draft document, and turns it into a nice looking web page with a short link you can send to anyone. This MCP server lets your AI do that for you without leaving the chat. It is handy for anyone who writes in markdown and needs to share it with people who do not use GitHub or a markdown viewer.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to plsreadme, a website that turns markdown into shareable pages. Once connected, you can just ask your AI to share a document and it will create the link for you.
What this MCP server does
You paste or write your markdown in the chat and ask your AI to share it. Your AI sends the text to this helper, which passes it to plsreadme. plsreadme renders it as a clean web page and gives back a short link. Your AI shows you that link, and you can copy it and send it to anyone. You can also ask your AI to update or check a document later.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Turn markdown text into a shareable web link
- Share a README, PRD, or meeting notes as a clean page
- Update an existing shared document with new content
- Check the version history of a shared document
- Restore an earlier version of a document if something went wrong
- Get the raw markdown file back from a shared link
Try asking your AI
- “Share this README as a plsreadme link”
- “Turn my meeting notes into a readable page I can send to my team”
- “Update my shared PRD with this new version”
- “Show me the version history of that document I shared earlier”
What it gives back to you
You get back a short web link, like plsrd.me/v/xxxx, that opens your document as a nicely formatted page. If you ask for history, you get a list of versions with dates. If you ask to update or restore, your AI tells you it is done and gives you the link again. Everything shows up right in your chat as text.
Before you start
What you need
- A free plsreadme account (you can also try it in the browser without one)
- A personal API key from your plsreadme My Links page (a kind of password the site gives you)
- An AI app that supports MCP, like Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, or Claude Desktop
Good to know
Anyone with the link can read your shared document, so do not share anything private or sensitive.
