Multi-Agent Research MCP server
by gemy411
Let your AI run deep research by sending out several helper agents to search the web and pull findings together.

This is a research helper you connect to your AI so it can dig into big, messy questions for you. Instead of one quick search, it splits the question into parts, sends out several helper agents to look things up at the same time, and then writes one combined answer. It is handy when you need a broad overview of a topic that touches several areas.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one gives your AI a research skill: it can reach out to the web, gather information, and bring answers back into your chat. You just ask your question, and the AI uses this helper behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You type a research question into your AI. The AI passes it to this helper, which acts as a lead researcher. That lead researcher breaks your question into smaller parts and sends out several helper agents to search the web and read pages at the same time. When they report back, the lead researcher combines everything into one answer and hands it to your AI, which shows it to you in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Research a broad topic that spans several areas at once
- Compare how different companies or approaches handle the same problem
- Gather findings from many web pages into one summary
- Break a big question into smaller parts and cover each one
- Run follow-up research when the first round leaves gaps
- Get a written overview you can read and reuse
Try asking your AI
- “Compare the latest developments in quantum computing by major tech companies and what they might mean for cryptography”
- “Investigate the economic, environmental, and social effects of vertical farming in cities”
- “Give me an overview of how different countries are regulating AI in healthcare”
- “Research the main options for small businesses moving their files to the cloud and the trade-offs of each”
What it gives back to you
You get back a written research answer in your chat, usually a few paragraphs or a short report that pulls the findings together. It reads like a summary someone wrote after reading many pages for you. Depending on your question, it may include comparisons, lists of points, or a general overview of the topic.
Before you start
What you need
- An OpenRouter API key (a kind of password for AI services; you get one from the OpenRouter website)
- A computer or server where this program can run, since it is not a ready-made hosted service
- Someone comfortable running a small program from the command line, or help from a technical colleague
Good to know
This runs its own research agents that search the web and can use up your OpenRouter credits, so keep an eye on your usage.
Install it with your AI
Add Multi-Agent Research MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Multi-Agent Research MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who need broad research on a topic and do not mind a short setup step, such as analysts, students, writers, and anyone comparing many sources at once.
