Image Compression MCP server
by InhiblabCore
Let your AI shrink image files on your own computer, in many formats, without uploading them anywhere.

This is a small helper that lets your AI compress image files for you. You tell it which images to shrink and how small or how sharp you want them, and it does the work right on your computer. It is handy if you run a website, write blog posts, or just want smaller pictures that load faster.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small program that gives your AI one new skill. This one gives your AI the skill of compressing images, so it can take a picture you point it to and make the file smaller. You still just talk to your AI in normal words; the helper does the technical part behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to compress one or more images and tell it how much quality you want to keep. Your AI passes that request to this helper program running on your computer. The helper opens each image, picks sensible settings for that kind of file, and saves a smaller version. Then it tells your AI where the compressed images are, and your AI shows you the result in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Compress JPEG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF images
- Shrink several images at once instead of one by one
- Choose the quality level to balance file size and sharpness
- Convert an image to a different format while compressing it
- Work fully offline, so your pictures never leave your computer
Try asking your AI
- “Compress all the images in my Downloads folder to WebP at quality 80”
- “Make this PNG much smaller without it looking blurry”
- “Compress these three photos and save the smaller versions next to the originals”
- “Turn this JPEG into an AVIF file and keep the quality high”
What it gives back to you
You get back the location of each compressed image, plus the smaller file itself saved on your computer. In the chat your AI usually lists the files it processed and where they were saved. If you asked for a specific format or quality, it tells you what it used.
