IP Find MCP server
by ipfind
Let your AI look up where an IP address is located, using the IP Find service.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to IP Find, a service that tells you where an IP address is located. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI things like where a certain IP address comes from, and it will find the answer for you. It is handy if you deal with website visitors, log files, or suspicious traffic and want a quick location without opening another website.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to IP Find, so when you ask about an IP address, the AI can actually look it up instead of guessing. You do not need to understand how it works inside; you just add it once and then talk to your AI as usual.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about an IP address, like where it is located. The AI passes that request to this helper program, which talks to the IP Find service using your API key. IP Find looks up the address and sends back the location details. The AI then shows you the answer in the chat, in plain words. You never have to visit the IP Find website yourself.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Look up the country and city for an IP address
- Check where a visitor or a log entry came from
- Get location details for several IP addresses by asking one by one
- Compare IP addresses from different sources
- Find the location behind an address you copied from an email or a report
Try asking your AI
- “Where is the IP address 8.8.8.8 located?”
- “Can you look up the location of 203.0.113.45 for me?”
- “I have this IP in my server log, 198.51.100.7. Which country is it from?”
- “Tell me the city and country for the IP address 192.0.2.10”
What it gives back to you
You get a short answer in the chat, usually the country, region, and city tied to that IP address, plus whatever else IP Find includes in its reply. It is not a file or a report, just text you can read right away. If the address cannot be found, the AI will tell you that instead.
Before you start
What you need
- An IP Find API key (a kind of password for apps; you create one for free on IPfind.com)
- Node.js installed on your computer
- An MCP client such as the Claude Desktop app
Good to know
Each lookup uses your IP Find account, so very heavy use may hit the limits or cost of your plan.
