EU Finance MCP server
Look up ECB interest rates, EU inflation, GDP and unemployment right inside your AI chat.

This is a small helper that connects your AI to official European financial data. It pulls interest rates from the European Central Bank and inflation, GDP and unemployment numbers from Eurostat. It is handy if you write reports, prepare briefings, or just want quick EU numbers without hunting through websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to European financial data sources, so when you ask about ECB rates or German inflation, the AI can go and fetch the real numbers for you. You do not need to install anything complicated or sign up for an API key.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about European money or economy numbers, like the ECB deposit rate or inflation in Spain. The AI passes your question to this helper program. The helper then talks to the European Central Bank and Eurostat, which are the official sources for this data. It brings the numbers back to your AI, which explains them to you in the chat. You get a clear answer with real figures instead of the AI guessing.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check the current ECB deposit, refinancing and lending rates
- Compare inflation across several EU countries
- Look up quarterly GDP growth for the Eurozone or EU-27
- See monthly unemployment rates by country and age group
- Get today's EUR exchange rate against any currency
- Look up a historical EUR exchange rate on a specific date
- Get a side-by-side snapshot of inflation, GDP and unemployment for 2 to 10 countries
Try asking your AI
- “What is the current ECB deposit facility rate and how does it compare to last year?”
- “Compare inflation across Germany, France, Spain and Italy. Who is closest to the 2% target?”
- “Show me Q4 GDP growth for the Eurozone versus the EU-27 average.”
- “What is the EUR/USD rate today, and what was it on 2024-01-15?”
What it gives back to you
You get the actual numbers back in the chat, usually as a short list or a small table your AI writes out for you. For comparisons, you get countries lined up side by side so you can see who is higher or lower. For rates, you get the latest figure plus the date it applies to. The AI explains what the numbers mean in plain words if you ask.
