Penfield MCP server
by penfieldlabs
Give your AI a long-term memory so it remembers your decisions, preferences, and past work.

Penfield is a memory service for AI assistants. Normally your AI forgets everything when you close the chat. With Penfield connected, it can save notes, decisions, and context, then bring them back the next time you talk. It is handy for anyone who uses an AI regularly and is tired of repeating themselves.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you in the moment. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Penfield, a memory service that lives online. Once connected, your AI can save things to Penfield and look them up again later, so it remembers you across sessions and across different apps.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something, or tell it something worth remembering. The AI uses this helper to talk to Penfield over the internet. Penfield stores the note, or searches its memory for related things you saved before. It can also link memories together into a small map of connected ideas. Then it sends the answer back, and your AI shows it to you in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Save decisions, preferences, and notes so they survive across chats
- Search your saved memory by keyword, meaning, or connections
- Link related memories together into a simple knowledge graph
- Save a checkpoint of where you are in a project and restore it later
- Store files or text as artifacts and pull them back when needed
- Load your identity and personality context at the start of a session
- Review what you worked on in the last week
Try asking your AI
- “Remember that I prefer short answers with no bullet points.”
- “What did we decide about the pricing page last month?”
- “Save a checkpoint of where we are on the report and call it draft two.”
- “Show me everything I have saved about the Henderson project.”
What it gives back to you
You get back plain answers in the chat: lists of matching memories, short summaries of what was saved, or the content of a stored artifact. When you save something, it confirms what it stored. When you search, it shows the closest matches it found, sometimes with the connections between them.
Before you start

Good to know
This service stores what you tell it on Penfield's servers, so avoid saving passwords, private keys, or anything confidential you would not want kept online.
