What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to the Signs of AI Writing engine, so when you ask about a document, the AI can actually run the analysis and bring back real findings instead of guessing.

What this MCP server does

You paste a piece of text into your chat and ask your AI to check it. Your AI passes the text to this helper, which runs the Signs of AI Writing engine on your computer. The engine looks for overused words, rhetorical habits, sentence patterns, and other tells, and gives each one a score and a suggested fix. Your AI then shows you the results in the chat, in plain language.
