Cosmos MCP server
by teampolarity
Give your AI one shared memory of you, built from your messages, notes, calendar and browsing.

Cosmos is a personal knowledge graph, a kind of memory file about you that lives in one place instead of being scattered across each AI app. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to that memory so it can read what is already there and add new things it learns about you. It is handy if you use more than one AI tool and are tired of repeating yourself in each one.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with what is in front of it. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to your Cosmos graph, which is your own store of notes, people, preferences and events. Once it is connected, your AI can look things up in that graph or add to it when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something, or you tell it something worth remembering. The AI passes that to this helper, and the helper talks to your Cosmos account over the internet. Cosmos then either answers from your graph or saves what you said as a new observation, event or preference. You see the answer or a short confirmation right in the chat. You can also run small commands on your own computer to pull in things like your iMessage history or your notes, and those land in the same graph.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Ask a plain question and get an answer drawn from your own graph
- Save a fact, event or preference your AI noticed about you
- Hand a whole chat exchange to Cosmos so it can pull out what matters
- Export your full personal graph as a file you can keep
- Check which account and permissions the helper is using
- Sync your iMessage, browser history, calendar or shell history on a Mac
- Connect Notion pages or an Obsidian vault so their content joins the graph
Try asking your AI
- “Who did I talk to most last month?”
- “Remember that I prefer short answers in the morning.”
- “What have I noted about the Henderson project?”
- “Save that I met Priya for coffee on Tuesday.”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain text in the chat, drawn from your graph. When you save something, you get a short confirmation that it was stored. Export gives you a file of your whole graph in a structured format. Some tools return lists, like people or events, which the AI can then summarize for you.
Before you start
What you need
- A Cosmos account and a pmk_ key from cosmos.polarity-lab.com
- Node.js installed on your computer to run the helper
- On a Mac, Full Disk Access permission if you want to sync iMessage or Calendar
Good to know
It reads private things like your messages, browsing history and notes, and it can save new information to your graph, so only connect accounts and sources you are comfortable sharing with it.
Install it with your AI
Add Cosmos MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Cosmos MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who use several AI tools and want one shared memory of themselves, especially those who keep notes in Notion or Obsidian and want their AI to see them.
