Scout MCP server for Premiere Pro
by tro2789
Lets your AI search the Premiere transcript, place markers, cut clips, and manage your project timeline for you.

Scout is a paid add-on for Adobe Premiere Pro on Windows. This MCP server is the bridge that lets an AI assistant like Claude work with your Premiere timeline through the Scout panel. It is handy if you edit podcasts, interviews, or any video where you work from a transcript and want the boring parts done for you.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another app. This one connects your AI to Adobe Premiere Pro through the Scout panel, so the AI can look things up in your timeline or make changes there when you ask. You stay in control: the AI sends the request, Scout does the work inside Premiere.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something in plain words, like find every time someone says a certain word. The AI sends that request to this helper, which passes it to the Scout panel running inside Premiere. Scout then reads your transcript, or places a marker, or cuts a clip, and sends the result back. Your AI shows you the answer in the chat, or tells you what it changed on your timeline. Everything happens on your own computer.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search your transcript for exact words and get the timecodes
- Place, list, and remove markers on your sequence
- Cut clips at exact times with a razor tool
- Apply cleanup cuts you marked in the transcript
- Turn duration markers into chapter markers
- Export your markers to a CSV file
- Re-enable all clips on every track in one step
Try asking your AI
- “Find every time the guest says the word budget and list the timecodes”
- “Place a red marker called Intro at the start of the sequence”
- “Remove all markers whose name starts with Scout/Cleanup”
- “Cut the video track at 00:12:30:00 and 00:18:45:12”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, like a list of matches with their timecodes, or a summary of your sequence. When the AI changes something, it tells you what it did, such as which markers it added or where it cut. Marker exports come back as a CSV file you can open in a spreadsheet. The Scout panel also shows a live log of every request.
