Axiom Math MCP server
by tufantunc
Your AI can solve exact math problems, check its own answers, and draw graphs, using a real math engine.

Axiom is a helper that lets your AI do real math instead of guessing. It plugs a proper computer algebra system into your chat, so you get exact answers for things like integrals, equations, and matrices. It is handy for anyone who works with numbers, students, analysts, or engineers who want to trust the result.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat and make things up, including math mistakes. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your AI to a real math engine called Giac/Xcas, which runs on your own computer. So when you ask a math question, your AI can hand it to Axiom and get back a correct, checked answer.
What this MCP server does
You type a math question in plain words or in math notation. Your AI sends it to the Axiom helper running on your machine. Axiom parses the problem and picks the right math engine, one for exact symbolic work and one for fast numbers. It computes the answer, checks it if you asked, and sends the result back. Your AI then shows you the answer in the chat, often with the steps or a graph.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Solve equations exactly, like x squared minus 4 equals 0
- Compute derivatives, integrals, and limits
- Check whether a math claim is true or false
- Work with matrices: determinant, inverse, eigenvalues
- Draw a graph of a function as an SVG image
- Do combinatorics and probability calculations
- Convert units, like 100 km/h to m/s
Try asking your AI
- “Solve x^2 - 4 = 0 for x”
- “What is the integral of sin(x)^3?”
- “Is sin(x)^2 + cos(x)^2 = 1 always true?”
- “Plot sin(x) from -10 to 10”
What it gives back to you
You get back the exact answer, often in math notation, plus a short explanation if you asked for one. For verify, it tells you true or false and may show why. For plot, you get an SVG image of the graph. Everything appears right in your chat window.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js version 20 or newer installed on your computer
- The Claude desktop app or another AI tool that supports MCP servers
Good to know
The HTTP mode has no password or limits, so only use it on your own computer or behind a protected setup.
Install it with your AI
Add Axiom Math MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Axiom Math MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Students, teachers, analysts, engineers, and anyone who needs reliable math answers without doing the algebra by hand.
