by bitatlas-group

Let your AI search, read and organize your encrypted BitAtlas vault files without ever seeing them in plain form.

BitAtlas is a cloud drive where your files are locked with a secret code before they ever leave your computer. This page is about the small helper that lets your AI assistant work with that drive. It is handy if you keep private documents in the cloud and still want an AI to help you find and sort them.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This helper connects your AI to BitAtlas, your encrypted cloud drive. Once it is set up, your AI can look things up or do things in your vault when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about your BitAtlas files. The AI passes your request to this helper program. The helper talks to BitAtlas and, using your keys, works with the encrypted files there. The results come back to your AI, which explains them to you in the chat. Your files stay locked the whole time, and the BitAtlas servers never see them in readable form.

What you can do with it

  • Search your vault for a document by name or topic
  • Read the contents of a file you stored
  • Upload a new file into your vault
  • Download a file you asked for
  • Organize files into folders or groups
  • List what is currently in your vault
  • Manage files you no longer need

Try asking your AI

  • “Find my medical records in BitAtlas and tell me what is in them”
  • “Upload this document to my vault under the name insurance 2025”
  • “List everything in my BitAtlas vault from last month”
  • “Search my vault for anything about the house purchase”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in plain chat: lists of files, short summaries of what a document contains, or a note that a file was uploaded, moved or removed. When you ask for a file, it can come back as a download you can open. Numbers like file sizes and dates show up in the chat too.

Before you start

What you need

  • A BitAtlas account and vault
  • A BitAtlas API key (a kind of password the service gives you)
  • Your master key, the secret that unlocks your files
  • The Claude desktop app or another AI tool that supports MCP servers

Good to know

This helper can read, change and delete files in your vault, so check what you ask it to do before you confirm.

Install it with your AI

Add BitAtlas MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check BitAtlas MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
