Lauther MCP server
Lets your AI ask you on your phone before it does something it cannot undo, and wait for your answer.
Lauther is a small helper that lets your AI assistant ask you a question on your phone before it does something risky, like deleting data or sending a real email. You get a prompt on your phone, you tap Approve or Deny, and the AI waits for your answer. It is handy for anyone who lets an AI do real work on their computer but wants a say before things go too far.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Lauther, the app on your phone, so the AI can send you a question and wait for your reply. When you ask your AI to do something, it can use this helper to check with you first.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to do something, like clean up a database or send an email. Before doing it, the AI uses this helper to send a question to your phone. You see a prompt with Approve and Deny buttons, and you tap one. The helper passes your answer back to the AI, which then either goes ahead or stops. If you never answer, the AI is told NO ANSWER, which is not the same as a yes.
What you can do with it
- Approve or deny a risky action from your phone before the AI does it
- Require your fingerprint for extra sensitive approvals
- Get one-way alerts on your phone, like a build finishing or breaking
- Share your location once when the AI asks for it
- Send the AI one photo, taken now or picked from your library
- Answer a short question by typing on your phone, like a code or a name
Try asking your AI
- “Before you drop the users table on staging, ask me for approval and wait.”
- “Send me a notification when the migration finishes, mark it urgent.”
- “Ask me for the verification code and wait for my reply.”
- “Ask me to share my location once, then tell me what you got.”
What it gives back to you
You get a short answer in the chat, like APPROVED after 34 seconds, or DENIED, or NO ANSWER. For location, the AI gets your latitude, longitude, accuracy and when it was read. For photos, the AI gets the image itself plus a link that works for 7 days. For typed answers, the AI gets back exactly what you typed, in quotes.
Before you start
What you need
- The Lauther app on your phone (free on the App Store and Google Play)
- A token from the Lauther app (Apps, then plus, then New token)
- Node.js 18 or newer on the computer running your AI
Good to know
It can ask you to approve real changes, so read the question before tapping Approve, and remember the messages are not end-to-end encrypted, so do not put secrets in the question text.
Install it with your AI
Add Lauther MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Lauther MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who lets an AI assistant do real work on their computer and wants to approve risky steps first, especially developers and people running automations.
