DocsMint MCP server
by HiAi-gg
Lets your AI search, read, and update the notes and documents in your DocsMint workspace.
DocsMint is a place to keep your notes, guides, and project documents. This MCP server connects that workspace to your AI, so it can look things up and make changes for you. It is handy if you already write things down in DocsMint and want your AI to work with the same knowledge.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to DocsMint, your document workspace. Once connected, you can ask your AI to find, read, or update documents there, and it does that for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something about your documents, like to find a note or read a page. The AI sends that request to this helper program. The helper talks to your DocsMint workspace, which can be the hosted service or one you run yourself. DocsMint searches across your documents using keywords, meaning, and related concepts. Then the answer or the document comes back to your AI, and your AI shows it to you in the chat.
What you can do with it
- Search your documents by phrase, concept, or even a misspelling
- Read a specific document and bring its content into the chat
- Create new notes or documents from what you discuss
- Update existing documents with new information
- List documents in a folder or category
- Move or delete documents when you ask
- Work with several documents at once using their IDs
Try asking your AI
- “Find my notes about the project architecture”
- “Read the document called Release notes and summarize it”
- “Create a new note titled Meeting follow-ups with these points”
- “Update the onboarding guide to add a step about setting up Docker”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain language, lists of matching documents, or the full text of a document you asked for. When you ask it to create or change something, it tells you what it did, like the title and ID of the new note. Search results come back as a ranked list of documents with short snippets. Everything appears right in your chat with the AI.
Before you start
What you need
- A DocsMint account, either on the hosted service or one you run yourself
- An API key or MCP credential from your DocsMint settings
- The URL of your DocsMint workspace if you are self-hosting
Good to know
This server can create, update, move, and delete documents in your workspace, so be careful with requests that change or remove things.
