AgentHelm MCP server

by jayasukuv11-beep

Let your AI look up your project's shared notes and decisions, and suggest new ones, all in one place.

AgentHelm is a service that keeps a shared notebook for your project, so different AI helpers all read from the same page. This MCP server is the small connector that lets your AI chat app read that notebook and add to it. It is handy if you work with AI coding tools and want them to stay consistent with each other.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to AgentHelm, a shared project notebook. Once connected, your AI can look things up there and suggest new notes when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about your project, like what database setup you use. The AI uses this helper to ask AgentHelm for the latest version of your project notes. AgentHelm sends back the relevant entries, and the AI shows them to you in the chat. You can also ask the AI to suggest a new decision or finding, and it sends that to AgentHelm for review. And you can ask to see the history of changes and who decided what.

What you can do with it

  • Look up your project's architecture and database notes
  • See the conventions and rules your team agreed on
  • Suggest a new decision or discovery to the shared notebook
  • Check the version history of project knowledge
  • See who proposed which change and when
  • Compare different versions of a decision

Try asking your AI

  • “What database schema are we using for the auth service?”
  • “Suggest that we switch from JWT to session cookies and explain why”
  • “Show me the history of changes to our API conventions”
  • “What did the team decide about error handling last month?”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in plain text in your chat, like a short summary of the relevant project notes. If you ask for history, you see a list of versions with short descriptions and who made them. If you suggest a new note, you get a confirmation that it was sent for review.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AgentHelm account and a connect key (a kind of password that starts with ahe_live_)
  • The name of your project in AgentHelm
  • Node.js installed on your computer (the free software that runs the helper)
  • An AI app that supports MCP, like Cursor, Claude Code, or Claude Desktop

Good to know

This server can add new entries to your shared project notebook, so check what your AI suggests before approving it.

Install it with your AI

Add AgentHelm MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check AgentHelm MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
