This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to your own WhatsApp account. Once it is running, you can ask your AI to look up chats, search messages, or send a message or a file, and it does it through WhatsApp for you. It is handy if you spend a lot of time in WhatsApp and want your AI to handle the boring parts.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to WhatsApp, so it can look things up there or do things for you when you ask. You run it on your own computer or server, and your AI talks to it.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "search my WhatsApp for the address Maria sent" or "send this file to the team group". Your AI passes that request to this helper. The helper talks to WhatsApp using your logged-in session, finds the chat or message, and either brings the answer back or sends what you asked. You see the result in your AI chat, like a list of matching messages or a confirmation that the message went out.

What it gives back to you
You get answers in your AI chat: lists of chats, matching messages with their text and sender, contact details, or a confirmation that a message or file was sent. When you download media, the file is saved on the server and you get a link to it. When you export a chat, you get a file you can open.
Before you start
What you need
- Docker installed on your computer or server
- A WhatsApp account on your phone to scan the QR code
- The admin page open in your browser to log in and change settings
Good to know
This server can send messages and files from your WhatsApp account and read your chats, so keep the admin page and MCP endpoint private and only connect it to an AI you trust.
