Markdown to PDF MCP server
Turn your Markdown notes into polished PDF files, with a table of contents, straight from your AI chat.

This is a small helper that lets your AI turn Markdown files into finished PDF documents. Markdown is the plain-text way of writing with simple symbols like # for headings and * for bullets. If you write notes, docs, or reports in Markdown and need to hand them to someone as a PDF, this is for you.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your AI to a Markdown-to-PDF converter that runs on your own computer. So when you ask for a PDF, your AI passes the file to this helper, and the helper builds the PDF for you.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI which Markdown file you want turned into a PDF. Your AI hands that file to this helper program. The helper reads the Markdown, adds a table of contents from your headings, styles everything nicely, and saves a PDF next to your file. Then your AI tells you where the new PDF is so you can open it.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Convert a Markdown file into a PDF
- Add an automatic table of contents from your headings
- Convert several Markdown files at once
- Apply your own style sheet to change the look
- Skip the table of contents when you do not want one
- Keep code blocks and tables looking right in the PDF
- Include images from your Markdown in the PDF
Try asking your AI
- “Turn my notes.md file into a PDF”
- “Convert every Markdown file in my docs folder to PDFs”
- “Make a PDF of report.md with a table of contents”
- “Show me the table of contents of my guide.md file”
What it gives back to you
You get a new PDF file saved on your computer, and your AI tells you where it is. If you asked for a table of contents, the PDF has clickable links to each section. If you asked to see the table of contents first, you get a simple list of headings in the chat. You can also ask for the default style sheet if you want to tweak the look.
Before you start
What you need
