OpenTK MCP server
by r-huijts
Lets your AI search Dutch Parliament documents, debates, MPs and voting records for you.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to information about the Dutch Parliament, the Tweede Kamer. It lets you ask normal questions in plain language and get back real documents, debates, member details and voting results. It is handy for anyone who follows Dutch politics, does research, or writes about what the government is doing.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case a connection to Dutch parliamentary data. Once it is set up, your AI can look things up in the Tweede Kamer for you when you ask. You do not need to understand how it works, you just ask your question like you would ask a colleague.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something about Dutch politics, like what was debated about housing last month. Your AI sends that request to this helper, which talks to a service that holds the parliamentary data. The helper finds matching documents, debates, people or votes and sends the results back. Your AI then reads them and answers you in the chat, often with links to the original documents. For long documents, it can first check what is inside so it does not have to read everything.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search parliamentary documents and debates by keyword or phrase
- Look up details about a specific member of parliament and their party
- Find which MPs sit on a certain committee
- Check recent voting results and how parties voted
- See upcoming debates and meetings in the Tweede Kamer
- Get a quick summary of what a long document is about before reading it
- Find every mention of a person or party inside a document
Try asking your AI
- “What did the Tweede Kamer debate about climate policy in the last six months?”
- “Which MPs are on the Finance Committee and what parties do they belong to?”
- “Summarize what document 2024D39058 is about and list the main topics.”
- “What were the recent voting results on healthcare reform and how did each party vote?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, usually as a short summary plus a list of the matching documents, debates or people. Each item often comes with a title, a date, and a clickable link so you can open the original. For votes you get the results and which parties supported or opposed. For documents you can get the full text, a section of it, or a quick overview of the main topics.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app or another AI tool that supports MCP servers
- Node.js installed on your computer (the free version from nodejs.org is fine)
Good to know
It only reads public parliamentary information, so nothing private is at risk, but always check the original document before relying on a summary.
Install it with your AI

Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check OpenTK MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
