Deep Research MCP server
Turn a rough question into a structured, well-cited research report inside your AI chat.

This is a small helper that turns your AI into a research assistant. You give it a topic or a question, and it works through it step by step and writes up a proper report with sources. It is handy if you often need to gather background on something and do not want to open twenty browser tabs yourself.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something outside the chat. This one gives your AI a research workflow, so when you ask a question it can plan the research, search the web, and write a report. You do not run it yourself; your AI calls on it when you ask for deep research.
What this MCP server does
You start by picking the deep-research prompt and typing your question. The helper first rewrites your question to make it clearer and sets the scope. Then it breaks the topic into smaller subquestions so nothing important is missed. It uses your AI's built-in web search to look up each subquestion and gather sources. Finally it pulls the findings together into one structured report with citations, which shows up in your chat as an artifact you can read and copy.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Turn a broad question into a clear, scoped research plan
- Break a big topic into smaller subquestions to cover it properly
- Search the web for each subquestion and collect relevant sources
- Compare and combine findings from several sources
- Write a structured report with citations you can keep
- Give you a balanced view with evidence-based conclusions
Try asking your AI
- “Do a deep research report on the current state of remote work policies in large companies”
- “Research the pros and cons of electric cars for city drivers and cite your sources”
- “Give me a structured overview of how AI is used in customer support today”
- “Research the main arguments for and against a four-day work week”
What it gives back to you
You get a written report in your chat, usually as an artifact you can open and copy. It is organized into sections, covers the subquestions, and lists the sources it used. You also see the elaborated question and the subquestions, so you can follow how the research was built.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app
- Python installed on your computer (the setup script uses it)
- Claude's built-in web search available in your account
Good to know
It relies on web search, so results depend on what is found online and may miss or misread sources, so check the citations before you rely on the report.
Install it with your AI
Add Deep Research MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Deep Research MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who needs to gather background on a topic quickly, like analysts, students, writers, consultants, and office workers preparing a briefing.
