Time Server MCP
Lets your AI tell you the exact time and date in any city or timezone you ask about.

This is a small helper that gives your AI a clock. Without it, your AI has no idea what time it is right now, because it only knows what it learned during training. Once connected, you can ask for the current time in London, New York, or anywhere else, and get a real answer.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot check the clock, look at a calendar, or peek at another app. An MCP server is a little helper program that gives your AI one new skill. This one gives it a clock, so it can look up the current time in any timezone for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like what time is it in Tokyo. The AI passes that question to this helper. The helper checks the real current time for that timezone and hands the answer back. Your AI then tells you the result in plain words in the chat. It also works for your own local time.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Ask for the current time in any city or timezone
- Check what time it is right now where you are
- Compare times between two places, like London and Sydney
- Get today's date when you are not sure
- Figure out whether it is a good hour to call someone abroad
Try asking your AI
- “What time is it in New York right now?”
- “What is the current time in Africa/Freetown?”
- “Is it too late to call someone in Tokyo?”
- “What is today's date and the local time here?”
What it gives back to you
You get a short, plain answer in the chat, like the current time is 2024-12-18 19:59:36 for the place you asked about. It does not give you a list or a file, just the time and date as text. If you ask about several places, you can ask one at a time or all at once.
Before you start
What you need
- The uvx tool installed on your computer (a small helper that runs this server)
- The config snippet from the README added to your AI app
Install it with your AI
Add Time Server MCP to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Time Server MCP, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who works with people in other timezones, schedules calls, or just wants their AI to stop guessing the time.
