Being MCP server

Give your AI a lasting personality and memory that carry over between chats.

Being is a helper service that gives your AI a personality and a memory. Instead of starting fresh every chat, your AI can remember past talks and keep the same character. It is handy if you want an AI that feels like the same person each time you talk to it.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It forgets everything when the conversation ends. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. Here, it connects your AI to Being, so your AI can look up its personality and past memories, and save new ones when you are done talking.

What this MCP server does

You talk to your AI like normal. Behind the scenes, the AI asks Being for its personality and recent memories. The AI then answers you using that context, so it stays in character and remembers what matters. When the chat is done, the AI tells Being to save the conversation into memory. Over time, Being sorts, fades, and merges those memories so the AI keeps a tidy, growing past.

What you can do with it

  • Keep the same personality across different AI apps
  • Remember past conversations and bring them up later
  • Save new chats into long-term memory
  • Search past memories by topic when you ask about them
  • Let your AI reflect on things between sessions
  • Prove which Being is yours with a built-in identity
  • Use your own AI provider key so nothing is spent without your say

Try asking your AI

  • “What did we talk about last week?”
  • “Remind me what you know about my project.”
  • “Save this chat so you remember it next time.”
  • “Tell me something you have been thinking about lately.”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat that sound like the same character as before. When you ask about the past, your AI pulls up relevant memories and summarizes them for you. When you save a chat, it quietly stores the details for later. You will not see files or numbers, just a more consistent, remembering AI.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Being account and a Being ID (the service gives you one)
  • A Being token that starts with brt_ (a kind of password for the service)
  • An MCP-compatible AI app like Claude Desktop or another client that supports MCP
  • Your own AI provider key (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) for memory search features

Good to know

It saves your conversations into memory on the service, so do not share anything private you would not want stored.

Install it with your AI

Add Being MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Being MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
