Contextium MCP server
Let your AI pull in your team's shared docs, standards, agents and workflows without copy-pasting.

Contextium is a shared knowledge platform for teams. It keeps your documentation, coding standards, AI agents, skills and workflows in one place. This MCP server connects that shared knowledge to your AI assistant, so the right context is there when you need it.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with what you type or paste into the window. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to Contextium, your team's shared knowledge platform. Once it is connected, your AI can look things up in Contextium and create or update things there when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like load my onboarding workflow or find anything about our authentication approach. Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper talks to Contextium over the internet using your account. Contextium sends back the matching files, workflows, agents or skills. Your AI then reads that content and answers you in the chat, using your team's real material instead of guessing.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Load a full team workflow, including its agents, skills and libraries, into one chat
- Search across all your Contextium documentation by meaning, not just exact words
- Create and update files, libraries, agents, skills, workflows and tags
- List your team's agents, skills, workflows, tasks and members
- Add tasks to a workflow and update their status
- Browse and install skills from the Contextium Marketplace
- Notify teammates about a file, workflow, agent or library
Try asking your AI
- “Create a new Contextium project for our API docs”
- “Load my onboarding workflow”
- “Find anything about our authentication approach”
- “What agents do we have set up?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain chat: lists of files, agents or skills, full text of a document or skill, search results, or a short confirmation that something was created or updated. When you load a workflow, the whole bundle of related content lands in the session so your AI can use it right away. When you create or change something, Contextium saves it and shows up in the Contextium desktop app for your team.
Before you start
What you need
- A Contextium account and workspace
- Node.js 18 or newer installed on your computer
- The Claude desktop app, Claude Code, Cursor, or another MCP-compatible assistant
Good to know
Your AI can create, change and delete things in your shared Contextium workspace, so check what it did before your teammates rely on it.
Install it with your AI
Add Contextium MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Contextium MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Teams that want their AI assistant to use shared docs, standards, agents and workflows instead of pasting context into every chat.
