France Data MCP server

by cturkieh

Ask your AI about French health facilities, doctors, companies, neighbourhoods and land prices in one place.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “How many pharmacies and labs are within 5 km of this address in Lyon?”, the France Data MCP server reaches Health facilities, Doctors, Companies, Neighbourhoods and Land prices, and you get back A clear answer in the chat.

This is a helper that lets your AI look things up in French public records: health centres, doctors, companies, neighbourhood populations and land prices. It is handy if you work on healthcare planning, local market research, local journalism or public projects in France. You just ask in normal words and it goes and checks the official sources for you.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to French public registries like FINESS for health facilities, RPPS for health professionals, INSEE for companies and population, and IGN for addresses. Once it is connected, your AI can look things up in those registries and bring the answers back to you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question in plain words, for example about doctors or health centres near a town. Your AI sends that request to this helper. The helper then queries the right French public sources, such as FINESS, RPPS, INSEE, Ameli or IGN. It also cross-checks several sources together, for example to spot a facility whose company number is closed. You get a clear answer back in the chat, often with counts, lists or a short summary.

What you can do with it

  • Find health facilities near an address or in a town
  • List doctors and health professionals by speciality or area
  • Look up a company or a facility by its official number
  • Check the population and income profile of a neighbourhood
  • Compare the number of doctors or facilities with the national average
  • Check land sale prices per square metre around a site
  • Cross-check a facility across several registries to see if it is still active

Try asking your AI

  • “How many pharmacies and labs are within 5 km of this address in Lyon?”
  • “List the cardiologists in department 75 and compare with the national average.”
  • “What is the population and average income of the neighbourhood around this point?”
  • “What were the median land prices per square metre near this site over the last few years?”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat, usually as short summaries, counts or lists. For example, a count of facilities by type, a list of professionals with their speciality, or a population and income profile for a neighbourhood. Some questions also return land prices with lower and upper ranges, or a note about how fresh each source is. It gives you facts pulled from the official registries, not opinions.

Before you start

Good to know

It only reads public records and does not change anything, but it can be slow if you send many requests quickly because there is a limit of 60 requests per minute.
