WhatsApp MCP server
Lets your AI read, search, and send WhatsApp messages for you, right from your chat window.
This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to your own WhatsApp account. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to find a message, catch you up on a busy group, or send a reply, and it will do it for you. It is made for people who live in WhatsApp all day and want their AI to handle the digging and typing.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only talk with you. An MCP server is a small program that gives your AI one new skill. This one gives your AI a connection to your WhatsApp account, so when you ask about a chat or a person, it can actually look there and act there for you. It runs quietly on your own computer, and your messages stay on your machine.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something in plain words, like who messaged you today or to send a birthday note. Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper talks to your WhatsApp account on your computer, searching your saved messages or sending what you asked. Then your AI tells you back what it found or confirms what it sent. It can also keep an eye on a chat and tell you the moment a new message arrives.
What you can do with it
- Search all your chats for a word or a person's name
- Read a summary of a long group conversation
- Send a message, a photo, a file, or a voice note
- Reply to a specific message or react with an emoji
- Edit or delete a message you already sent
- See unread chats and mark them as read
- Create or manage a group and its members
Try asking your AI
- “What did Maria say about the meeting yesterday?”
- “Summarize the family group chat from the last two days”
- “Send a happy birthday message to Tom on WhatsApp”
- “Find every message where someone mentioned the invoice”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain words in your chat window: a list of matching messages, a short summary of a conversation, or a confirmation that your message was sent. If you asked for a photo or a voice note, it can show up right in the chat. For searches, you usually see the sender, the date, and the message text.
Before you start
What you need
- WhatsApp on your phone
- A computer with the helper program installed (the README gives a one-line install command)
- An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop or Claude Code
Good to know
Your AI can read your private messages and also send, edit, or delete things, so keep write actions behind your app's approval and consider running it in read-only mode.
Install it with your AI
Add WhatsApp MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check WhatsApp MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who uses WhatsApp a lot for work or family and wants their AI to search, summarize, and reply for them.
