Web Analyzer MCP server

by kimdonghwi94

Lets your AI read a web page, pull out the useful parts, and answer your questions about it.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Read this page and give me the main points”, the Web Analyzer MCP server works in steps: opens the page, then clears the clutter, then keeps what matters, and you get back clean page in your chat.

Web Analyzer is a small helper that lets your AI open a web page and actually read it for you. Instead of copying and pasting long articles into the chat, you just give the link. It is handy for anyone who spends their day reading pages online and wants the short version.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. It cannot open a web page or look anything up online. An MCP server is a small helper program you connect once, and it gives your AI a new skill. This one gives your AI the skill of reading web pages, so it can fetch a page, clean it up, and answer questions about it when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You give your AI a web link and tell it what you want to know. Your AI passes that link to this helper. The helper opens the page in a browser behind the scenes, strips out the ads, menus, and other clutter, and keeps the parts that matter, like the main text, tables, and images. Then it hands the clean version back, or uses it to answer your question. You see the result right in your chat.

What you can do with it

  • Turn a messy web page into clean, readable text
  • Ask questions about what a page says and get an answer
  • Pull the key points out of a long article
  • Keep tables and images that matter while dropping ads and menus
  • Read pages that load their content with JavaScript, not just plain text

Try asking your AI

  • “Read this page and give me the main points: https://example.com/article”
  • “What does this page say about pricing? https://example.com/plans”
  • “Summarize this news article in five bullets”
  • “Does this page mention a refund policy? https://example.com/help”

What it gives back to you

For a page summary, you get clean text in your chat, usually as a tidy list of points or a short write-up. For a question, you get a plain answer based on what the page actually says. Tables and images that matter are kept in the output. Nothing is saved to a file unless you ask your AI to do that.

Before you start

What you need

  • The uv tool installed on your computer (a free program that runs this helper)
  • Chrome or Chromium browser installed (the helper uses it to open pages)
  • An OpenAI API key if you want to ask questions about pages (a kind of password for apps; OpenAI gives you one when you sign up, and it costs money to use)
  • A supported AI app like Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, or a JetBrains IDE

Good to know

The question feature uses your OpenAI key, which costs money each time you use it, and some websites may block the helper from reading them.

Install it with your AI
