Lotus Wisdom MCP server

by linxule

Your AI can work through hard questions step by step using a calm, multi-angle thinking method.

This is a helper for your AI that walks through tricky questions in a structured, thoughtful way. It is based on an old Buddhist text called the Lotus Sutra, but you do not need to know anything about that to use it. It is handy when a question is messy, has two sides, or needs a slower look instead of a quick answer.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something outside the chat. This server gives your AI a thinking method: a set of steps and pauses it follows when you ask it to reflect on a problem. You just talk normally, and the AI quietly uses this helper behind the scenes.

What this MCP server does

You give your AI a question or a problem. The AI starts the helper with a first step called begin, which loads the whole thinking framework. Then the AI moves through steps with names like open, examine, integrate, and meditate, building one thought on top of the last. At the end, the helper says the thinking is ready, and your AI writes the final answer in its own words.

What you can do with it

  • Break a complicated problem into several points of view
  • Add short meditation pauses so a new idea can surface
  • Track how the thinking moved from one angle to another
  • Summarize the whole thinking journey when you ask for it
  • Start a guided contemplation with one command
  • Run a longer deep inquiry across several thinking stages
  • See each step drawn as a small visual trace in some apps

Try asking your AI

  • “Help me think through whether I should change careers.”
  • “I keep going back and forth on a decision. Walk me through it slowly.”
  • “What is the relationship between freedom and responsibility?”
  • “Use the lotus wisdom method to help me understand a conflict with a coworker.”

What it gives back to you

You get the AI's final answer in plain language in the chat. Behind the scenes, each step also returns a small record showing the step number, the thinking stage, and the journey so far. If you ask for a summary, you get a short list of all the steps and how the thinking moved between stages. In some apps, each step also shows up as a small visual trace you can look at.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js 18 or newer if you run it on your own computer
  • Nothing extra if you use the hosted web address

Good to know

The hosted version records basic usage analytics, and the local version keeps a small in-memory journey, but neither changes your files or outside data.
