Hey.com MCP server
by Sealjay
Lets your AI read, search, send, and organise your Hey.com email for you.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to your Hey.com inbox. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to check your mail, find a message, or send a reply, and it will do it for you. It is handy if you live in your Hey inbox all day and want to save some clicks.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot see your email or do anything in your inbox. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case a connection to your Hey.com account. So when you ask your AI about a message, it quietly asks this helper, and the helper talks to Hey.com for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "what's new in my inbox?" or "reply to Sam's email." The AI passes that request to this helper, which is running on your own computer. The helper logs into Hey.com using a saved session, fetches or changes what you asked for, and hands the result back. Your AI then shows you a plain answer in the chat. Everything stays on your machine.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Read emails from your Imbox, Feed, Paper Trail, Drafts, Trash, and Spam
- Search across all your mailboxes for a word or sender
- Send a new email or reply to a thread
- Set emails aside, mark them for reply later, or bubble them up
- Screen new senders in or out of your inbox
- Download an attachment or read a calendar invite
- Check your Screener to see who is waiting for a decision
Try asking your AI
- “What's in my Imbox right now?”
- “Search my email for anything from my accountant this month”
- “Reply to the last email from Sam and say I'll get back to them tomorrow”
- “Show me who is waiting in my Screener”
What it gives back to you
You get back plain answers in the chat: lists of emails with sender and subject, short summaries of a mailbox, or the text of a message you asked to read. When you ask it to send or organise something, it tells you what it did, like "replied to Sam" or "set that email aside." Attachments can be downloaded to your computer.
Before you start
What you need
- A Hey.com account
- Bun 1.1 or later installed on your computer
- Python 3.10 or later installed on your computer
- A Mac or Linux computer (Windows users will likely need WSL)
Good to know
It can send emails and change things in your inbox, and it uses an unofficial connection to Hey.com that can break when Hey changes their site, so review anything it wants to do before approving it.
