EWS Meeting MCP server
by ap311036
Lets your AI read your Outlook inbox and set up Exchange meetings, with a preview before anything is sent.

This is a small helper program that connects your AI assistant to your company Outlook calendar and inbox, on an older in-house Exchange server. It is handy if you work at a company where calendar access is locked down and you cannot just hand a cloud tool broad Microsoft permissions. You can ask your AI to check your mail, find a free slot, and draft a meeting, and it will show you the details before anything actually goes out.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app, and here it connects your AI to your company Exchange calendar and mailbox. Once it is set up, your AI can look things up there or prepare changes for you when you ask. This particular helper is built to be careful: it reads freely but always asks you to confirm before it changes anything.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like find a time for a meeting with two colleagues next week. Your AI passes that request to this helper, and the helper talks to your company Exchange server using your saved login. It looks up the people, checks their free time, finds a suitable room, and comes back with suggested slots. If you pick one, the helper shows you a full preview of the invite and waits for your clear yes before it creates anything.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search and read messages in your Outlook inbox without marking them as read
- Look up colleagues and meeting rooms by name
- Check when people are free and suggest meeting times
- Preview a new meeting invite, including weekly repeats, before it is sent
- Update or cancel an existing meeting after you confirm
- Send a report email to yourself only, with duplicate-send protection
- Check that the setup and login are working, and review a local log of past actions
What it gives back to you
You get back plain answers in the chat: lists of matching emails, names and room options, suggested time slots, or a full preview of a meeting invite with all the details. When you confirm a change, it tells you the meeting was created, updated, or cancelled, and can check the server to confirm it really happened. It also keeps a local log of what was done, which you can ask it to show.
Before you start
What you need
- Access to your company's on-premises Exchange server, including its web address
- Your work email address and login details for that server
- The password stored safely, for example in the macOS Keychain
- Node.js installed if you use the npx command, or Python if you run it from a local copy
Good to know
It can create, change, and cancel real meetings on your calendar and send emails from your account, so always read the preview carefully before you confirm.
Install it with your AI
Add EWS Meeting MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check EWS Meeting MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Office workers at companies that still run their own Exchange server, especially in regulated or security-conscious teams where calendar access is tightly controlled.
