Telegram MCP server
by chigwell
Let your AI read your Telegram chats, summarize messages, and send replies for you.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to your own Telegram account. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to look through your chats, summarize what you missed, or write and send a message. It is handy if you spend a lot of time in Telegram and want help keeping up.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to Telegram, using your own account. So when you ask about a chat or a message, the AI can actually go and look it up or act on it for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something about Telegram, like what happened in a group today. The AI uses this helper, which talks to Telegram through your account. The helper fetches the chats, messages, or contacts you asked about and hands them back to the AI. The AI then explains what it found or does the action you wanted, like sending a reply. You see the result right in your chat with the AI.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- List your chats, groups, and channels
- Read and summarize recent messages
- Search your chat history for a topic or person
- Send, reply to, edit, or delete messages
- Mark messages as read or pin them
- Send files, photos, voice notes, and stickers
- Turn voice messages into text
- Manage contacts and save nicknames you actually use
Try asking your AI
- “Summarize the unread messages in my work group”
- “Search my chats for anything about the invoice from last week”
- “Draft a reply to Andrei saying I will send the file tomorrow, but do not send it yet”
- “What did the team channel talk about today?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain language, like a summary of a chat or a list of matching messages. When it sends or changes something, it tells you what it did, such as the message it sent or the one it marked as read. Voice messages come back as text, with a note that it is a machine transcript, not exact wording. Everything shows up right in your conversation with the AI.
Before you start
What you need
- A Telegram account
- Your Telegram login details for the first setup (the app asks for a code Telegram sends you)
- An MCP-compatible AI app such as Claude Desktop or Cursor
- Python and the ability to run a small program on your computer
Good to know
This connects to your real Telegram account, so it can read your private chats and send, edit, or delete messages as you, and some features like rich formatting or native transcription need Telegram Premium.
Install it with your AI
Add Telegram MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Telegram MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who lives in Telegram for work or community chats and wants help reading, summarizing, and replying to messages.
